Sweden is officially called the Kingdom of Sweden. It’s the 3rd largest EU country in the land area, after France and Spain.  Stockholm is the capital and the largest city as well. It has borders with Norway to the west and Finland to the east, and is connected to Denmark in the southwest. The main official language of is Svenska, however students who are planning to study or visit can be reassure, because English is spoken by 90% of the population, which eliminates all the barriers.

Lund city is one of the oldest cities in Sweden. You can find the charm of a small picturesque, cobble-stoned city, side-by side with big city attractions such as services, shopping, restaurants and cultural events. The easiest way to get around Lund is by bike. The city is small and compact which means you can cycle across it in no more than 20 minutes.

The University is a strong influence on Lund city, and several university buildings are located in the heart of the city. The combination of businesses, students, and researchers from around the world has given birth to Lund’s unique character as a city of strong research-based global industries.

Lund University was founded in 1666 which is one of the oldest, and broadest universities in Northern Europe and has a long and vibrant history of world-class teaching, research excellence, student influence, alumni success and dynamic student life. There are 8 facilities, and in addition, there are several specialized research centers and institutes. It has 3 campuses in the cities of Lund, Helsingborg, and Malmö which are located all in the southern Sweden. Lund University is the Home of the Nobel Prize – the world’s most prestigious academic distinction. It’s internationally recognized for excellence in engineering and science. Around five hundred courses are held in English for the benefit of international exchange students.
